Worst Hotel Experience Ever do not stay here!! I booked a hotel room with the delta from july 21-23. I travel a lot and have even stayed in one star hotels who gave me better customer service than I received at the Delta. My cousin was and his girlfriend came in from Toronto to visit for a week I only get to see them once a year. I booked a two bed hotel room for my girlfriend, my cousin, his girlfriend and myself. I always had some problems going to the delta ( we stay there every year around this time) most of the problems are not a big deal. No mini fridge, pools not working that kind of thing not a big deal. But this time was the worst experience I have ever had at the hotel! They said I booked a one bed room not a two bed room. I called in to book. They said people over the phone cannot guarantee anything and " you get what you get" four of us cant sleep in one bed. I asked for atleast a cot. They said they dont have any but" you guys could sleep on the floor lots of people are doing it" I am not going to let my cousin and his girlfriend sleep on the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!. I asked for a refund so we could go stay somewhere else and they said " no sorry we already have the money we cannot refund it!!! All they did was " give me free parking" even though I wasnt going to get parking I might as well. My cousin and his girlfriend went and stayed at a different hotel!! and me and my girlfirend ended up staying at the delta ! Worst Idea ever!!!. I looked at my bill and they CHARGED ME FOR PARKING and they said they cannot refund that even though the manager Kuljeee said it. I have been staying at the delta for 6 years every year. This will be the last I can not believe they would treat me like that. I have had way better service from a one star hotel. Please do not stay here! you will thank me! Very upset. The girl I was talking to at first was Irene and she got the manager named Kuljeee ( is what Irene told me her name was ) Kuljeee said all of the above stuff in the "". Very upset and still in disbelief!! Delta cost me over 350 dollars. if only I did not book with them!
Strange, very strangely run. The hotel has blocked access to the main floor of the neighbouring, but attached, building that has a Subway, Hair salon and cigar shop. There are other offices on that buildings upper floors. You have to go to the second floor, get to the skywalk, then you go down the neighbouring office buildings hall and use their elevators to get down to the main floor and basement floor, which is where a pub and japanese restaurant are located. Or walk around the block, which can be very uncomfortably cold at -30C. Very inconvenient and lacks accessibility for all. Just last week, I saw a group of people and one guy was in a wheelchair coming from the skywalks. They wanted to get to the main floor of the hotel. It was cold out and they only appeared to be wearing sweaters. So, they had to lift and carry the guy in the wheelchair down the steps from the skywalk to the second floor of the hotel. Its not safe to make people do that. The washrooms on the main floor are private, guests only, where you need a card key to access them. There are washrooms on the 2nd floor that are sometimes open and sometimes locked. For some reason they made the backdoor area restricted access. Staff will assume you are homeless and sleeping on their couches if you just look down and close your eyes for a few moments while nursing eye strain or a headache no matter how well you are dressed. Security staff can be a bit abrupt and rude for no reason. On the lighter side, the Human Bean cafe is a decent place to grab a coffee and snack. You are welcome to sit in the bar area on their couches. Bar staff dont mind. The couches and seating are comfy. The main floor was renovated a few years ago and looks nice and updated. Careful walking at the front entrance area. They laid out ceramic tile. During winter, it gets icy. In the summer theyve been setting out free carafes of water with lemon and lime slices floating around. Sometimes they have free coffee set out or tea. But I think it depends on the season or if they want to do that.
Premium price but rooms not premium. Gym has tons of steppers, treadmills, cycles, and a variety of dumb-bells, dedicated machines, universals. Unlike a real gym, there are no free weights (other than dumb-bells) nor duplicates of the universals and dedicated machines so if you hit it at a busy time you will wait. But the universals and dedicated machines are all old. Padding on leg extension machine is so worn out as to make the metal painful. Fly machine has idiotic design where it is more difficult to get into position and exit than to do your reps (only an issue if you push yourself with high weight). Rooms have modern ipod-docking clock/radios, fancy desk, and some artsy lamps/paintings, but these items look ridiculous in the room that otherwise has worn out furnishings. The glass shower-doors are fine, but rooms with shower curtains cause a flood. Bathrooms terrible compared to the nearby Holiday Inn. Poor air circulation, terrible drainage in tubs and sinks, ok water pressure, towels not fluffy. No fridge or microwave in rooms. Ridiculous that they charge a premium price when they have cut all the corners. Poor sound insulation. You hear everything going on on your floor, and the clubs and construction going on in the neighborhood. I had to work some third shifts. When I stayed on a "Club" floor they came around every day to offer me water and a chocolate. They could leave these things in your room when they do house-keeping but they want you to know they are treating you special. I didnt want to use the do-not-disturb sign because I know the room needs to be serviced and would get up for that. I finally told them to stop badgering me. The only difference on zvlub floor is you have to use your key card to exit elevator, they badger you with water and chocolates, and you get glass shower door. Room still worn out and sound installation still sucks.
Have stayed at this hotel before and loved it. I cannot say the same about this time. I asked for bedding without feathers as usual and they did not remember to switch them so I ended up taking allergy medicine the first night. Asked if I could upgrade rooms and they said it would be no problem and that I would pay 40 dollars once. This is on top of my 178 per night rate through Expedia (cheapier if you just book through the hotel with CAA rate btw). Second night I went to rent a movie and was told Id have to come leave an additional 50 dollar deposit to watch a 4.99 movie and my original 150 deposit was used up by the room fees ?! This is when I was told it was now an extra 120 for my room upgrades (same lady who was supposed to have my bedding changed) after talking with manager she is making me downgrade rooms and refunding my deposit. This was supposed to be a fun weekend to relax and I feel like my apartment would have been a classier place to hang out (normally a 4 star hotel is very nice) they made me feel cheap after spending 675 for three nights with Expedia. O and my favorite part of the hotel before was the hot tub and it wasnt even hot this time (was told they are ordering a part to fix it) lol what a weekend :(
