We booked a room for our wedding night here in April and asked if we could offer the first 5 guests the option to get a special rate if they chose to stay with this hotel. They said certainly and provided us confirmation for only our booked suite. Fast forward to August, two days before our wedding, we called to confirm our check in time, and we were told that they had booked us the five rooms extra. We said sorry for the confusion, but if none of our guests had confirmed a room to cancel them as that was never the plan for us to carry the responsibility of the rooms. Wedding night, as we were walking to our room, the concierge came up to us and said that we would have to pay for the other 5 rooms if we were to stay the night. He was incredibly rude, and it was a rotten cherry on an otherwise perfect day. We spent the next week trying to fight them from every angle, but since we were never given a cancellation number when we called to check-in, we had no confirmation that we had cancelled. Thanks DoubleTree for focusing solely on your bottom line by charging us 800 extra dollars, not providing us an concise agreement up front for the 5 rooms, and providing us the worst customer experience through what should be the happiest time of our lives. Nice hotel, but do not book your wedding, wedding suite, or guest rooms here period.
We had a one night stay with the whole family (kids aged 1 & 5) and had a great stay. It all started off well with the hotel texting us the morning of our check-in to see if there was anything they could do for us to make our stay better, (they had our number since we are enrolled in Hiltons HHonours loyalty program and use the app) which was really nice and turned out to be very useful as we were ahead of schedule and were able to easily arranged an early check-in. Every hotel should do this. We ate at the hotels Wild Sage restaurant for dinner that was pretty good but the breakfast buffet was the real winner (5/5). All the food was very delicious and they had many healthy options available. The room and hotel itself was modern, although it is an older building, and very comfortable. We all had a great nights sleep and awoke refreshed. The hotel also has a Starbucks on the lobby floor, which is fantastic and another great and quicker breakfast option. The only amenity it seemed to lack is a pool, not something we usually use but we were surprisd to find missing when we wanted to swim. All in it was a great hotel and highly recommended for those visiting Regina or those looking for an evening or weekend retreat.
If you need RELIABLE and HALF DECENT internet then book another hotel. Not only was the "complimentary" internet painfully slow, the paid internet was also a joke, and not just because the speed was laughable, but also because once you selected the complimentary internet there was no way to bring back the portal and re-select paid internet. I paid for the premium internet on my cellphone thinking it would transfer over to all the room devices connected. I even phoned to reception to try and see if I could somehow bring up the initial portal once I figured out that the internet did not transfer to all my devices. They told me I would be re-directed once I forgot the network and reconnected. Which I did way before calling them with no success. Did all the basic troubleshooting one might expect. I figured they may have manually reset it, so once I hung up I tried again and no portal, still had the unacceptably slow internet. I ended up tethering from my cell phone data to get my work done. Absolutely unimaginable in 2017 for wifi to be this convoluted and slow in any hotel, let alone a Hilton. I will not risk staying at a Hilton again.
The hotel is fairly nice and clean but the service sucks. We went to order breakfast in the morning and they dont have room service for breakfast... okay fine, we went to the restaurant to pick up our food. Paid 50$ for burn bacon and uncooked potatoes. I threw it out and complained. They didnt do anything about it. Okay, later that day, we came back from the wedding ceremony and the AC unit was dripping fluid all over our stuff and the bedside table. Some maintenance guy shows up and says he can fix it but itll take hours and be loud. So although we had things to do we were basically kicked out of our room. Any other hotel would upgrade you for something like that. They didnt care or apaulogize or discount. My family stayed across the street at the ramada GO THERE its nice, breakfast was good and service was better and i wasnt even staying there haha
I tend to stay at the Quality Hotel when visiting Regina but decided on this occasion stay somewhere different so I can here to the DT. This hotel is very nice from a visual standpoint inside. It looks very modern, clean and professional. Upon arrival I was offered either a cookie or some water, (nice little touch) I chose the water haha. My room was on the twelfth floor, with views overlooking Sask energy and neighbouring building. The hotel has just had a major re-vamp within the last two years, which is certainly noticeable. I was pleasantly suprised with my room! Very clean, confortable bed and a nice decor about the place. For $169 per night which includes parking and taxes I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend!
We recently had a block of rooms at this hotel for our wedding and I just wanted to say how much we were impressed with the service of everyone we encountered at the hotel! They made our experience as great as it could have been! Weddings are a stressful experience and they made it easy for us to get everything that we could have possibly needed. And I have heard nothing but fabulous things from my guests! I just want to say thank you to everyone at the Doubletree for making my wedding day as stress free as possible!! Thank you, Amanda
Havent been to Regina in awhile, tend to go to Saskatoon more now. Stayed here a few times and never had any problems. Nice clean rooms and really like the balcony. My only issue is that unlike Saskatoon Inn, there is no pool or hot tub (or gym) that I know of. Usually I dont concern myself with these issues as a room is for resting for a night, however...we tend to go to Saskatoon now as it gives the kids something to do if I wanna crash or step out for something. Everyone is happy that way. But again, still very nice hotel.
Attended a wedding here over the weekend. I was really impressed with the staff, as they were extremely friendly. The bride and groom did a buffet for supper, and it was really fantastic. The only negative of the whole thing was the air-conditioning seemed to be broken. We werent adviced of the air-conditioning being broken until later in the evening, but it was extremely hot due to high temperatures outside, along with 150+ people being in one room. Overall everything was quite nice.
I stayed at the Double Tree in Regina two times and if I have an option to travel there for work again, I will do it again. The restaurant is cozy. The staff is great. The menu is really good with locally sourced ingredients. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are good. The other facilities, such as the gym, the meeting rooms, the lobby, are good and comfortable. The hotel is in a good location, within convenient walking distance from good restaurants and pubs.
